how to make it
Start with a sturdy piece of wire. Fold it in half and twist the end of the wire slightly around each other. This will make it easier to insert stems between the wire. You can secure the rest of the stems with florist's tape.
It's nice to give the garland a fan-like effect. Start at one end with structured short stems and move towards featuring more protruding, fan-like flowers. The nice thing about this garland is that no two are alike. Experiment with colour gradient, with shape and structure and with fresh and dried flowers.
Is your garland finished? Carefully bend it around your fireplace, doorframe or curtain rod. Not keen on doing it yourself? Ask if your florist can make one for you. This one was made by florist A.P Bloem from Amsterdam.
