Create a floating wreath
This flower wreath from Paper & Stich can float in pools, ponds and large bowls of water. The DIY combines roses, ranunculus and anemones into the shapes of triangles and hexagons but there's plenty of scope to be even more creative.
Float individual blooms
Many flower heads will float in water when the stems are cut to a short length. Lush hydrangeas, chrysanthemums and peonies work well in a display, whilst bright gerberas can be used to add a burst of colour to a watery presentation.
Get creative with shapes
Whether you choose to create a wreath or place individual flowers into a wide vase, there's nothing stopping you getting creative with shapes. Perhaps you could try creating a wreath in the shape of your initials or floating blooms in cake tins in the shape of numbers to celebrate a birthday?
