This is what you need
This floral hair decoration is bound to make an impression, and you need just three things to make it:
- Hydrangeas in your favourite colours; preferably choose two or three different colours
- String
- Thin wire (winding wire)
How to make it
Step 1: Cut a piece of string to a length to fit around your head. Bear in mind that you have to be able to fasten the string with a bow. So leave a bit of extra string.
Step 2: Take your hydrangeas and remove small bunches of flowers from the big flowerheads. Make sure that the flowers have sucked up plenty of water and feel firm. It's best not to use flaccid flowers.
Step 3: Place a bunch against the string and fasten it to the string using a short length of wire. If you don't have any wire, you can also simply use string. You should then use a clove hitch for the knot, otherwise the bunch could slip.
Step 4: Carry on until the entire string is covered, and mix your hydrangeas to give a cheerful effect. Once your crown of flowers is finished, secure it at the back of your head. Now you're ready to shine!
Tip: If you want to make this crown of flowers in advance, store it in a plastic bag in the vegetable drawer in your fridge. This will keep the flowers nice and fresh.
