Cupid
Nectar was the drink of the gods. When Cupid, the son of Venus (the Roman goddess of love), brought nectar to the gods, he spilled some of it. The first rose is said to have been created on this spot.
Flower goddess Chloris
There is also the myth about Chloris, the Greek goddess of the flower world, spring and nature. Her love Zephyrus, god of the west wind, is meant to have given her the flower world and in some myths she then created the rose.
Aphrodite’s love
Or did the rose emerge out of the death of Adonis? He was the most beautiful boyfriend of Aphrodite (the Greek goddess of love, beauty and fertility). According to this myth, since then the rose has been a symbol of endless love.
One thing we know for sure, the rose still stands for love. Give a loved one a rose and begin your own love legend.
