You will need:
- An attractive plant of your choice, e.g. flowering eucalyptus and pistacia
- Self-drying clay
- Rolling pin
- Cookie cutters
- Optional: acrylic varnish
Get to work
Step 1. Roll out the clay to the desired size and thickness with the rolling pin. The thicker the clay, the longer it will take to dry.
Step 2. Cut out the desired shape with the cutter. A diameter of 10 cm is fine for a coaster; it's best to choose a smaller size for a necklace.
Step 3. Now carefully press the plant into the clay using the rolling pin. Carefully remove the plant from the clay to leave a nice imprint.
Step 4. Leave to dry. To speed up the drying process, you can place the clay in the oven on the lowest setting.
Step 5. Once the clay is dry, you can finish it with acrylic varnish for a lasting and attractive result. Opt for a transparent varnish for a simple design, or choose a bright colour.
