Making your own wooden stem vase is half the fun – and with the right tools, not as difficult as you might think.

What you’ll need:
- 3 x 1 1/4-inch wooden blocks
- Fine sanding block or sandpaper
- Wood stain
- Cloth or sponge brush for staining
- 15 x 85mm test tubes
- Pencil
- Glue gun
- Power drill
- Vice clamps and work bench
- ¼-inch drillbit
- 5/8-inch drillbit
- Protective goggles
