Refreshing Summer Lavender Lemonade

Enjoy a glass of homemade floral lemonade this summer!

Nothing beats a long cool glass of lemonade whilst enjoying the heat of the evening summer sun on the terrace or in the back garden. Traditionally made from a basic recipe of lemon juice, water, and cane sugar or honey, this is a beverage well loved around the globe.

Lemonade is easy to make, so there's no excuse not to give it a go yourself! The best thing about making your own is that you can personalise it by adding some extra flavours. What about pink lemonade? Frozen lemonade? Or even add some flowers, just like blogger Erin has done in her version using dried lavender flowers to make a syrup for an added aromatic boost!

Ingredients (for 6 cups)

  • 1 tablespoon of dried lavender flowers*
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 5 cups water, divided up
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (5 - 8 lemons, size dependant)

For Garnish (optional):

  • Additional lemon slices
  • Fresh lavender sprigs*

* Only use edible flowers from specialist suppliers.

Serve your delicious homemade lemonade simply in a tall glass with lots of ice and a fancy staw, upcycle some old jam jars for a quirky look, or why not make a large batch for a party and have your guests serve themselves from a trendy Kilner Drinks Dispenser?
