Shopping haven
As well as a huge variety of flowers and plants on offer – there will also be an impressive selection of garden sundries where you can pick up practical essentials, such as tools and equipment, as well as prettier things, like decorative items and garden furniture to give your outdoor space a makeover.
Floral Art Marquee
Local Essex floral artists will be gathering under canvas in the Floral Art Marquee to showcase their innovative displays and dazzle you with their colourful creations, in celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday (it being the Royal Horticultural Society and all that).
Artists’ Pavillion
Another hub for creative talent will be the Artists’ Pavillion – new to show for 2016. Here, the work of four outstanding artists will take centre-stage. This year’s impressive line-up includes: marion Sidebottom, creative photographer; Douglas Payne, stained-glass painter; Sue Fields, botanical artist; and Rhian John, painter.
Expert wisdom
If it’s advice you’re looking for, head to the RHS stand where experts will be on hand to offer their personal advice and tips. There will also be short, informal talks by the Hyde Hall garden team, as well as information on the RHS ‘Geening Grey Britain’ campaign, including how you can help support wildlife and reduce pollution and flooding.
Refreshments and entertainment
Rest your weary legs in the beautiful summer gardens, stop to enjoy the live music, courtesy of a barber shop quartet and harpist, or head to the Field Café, Barn Restaurant, pop-up café, or food village for a cuppa or a well-earned lunch break
